Many of my articles discuss planning for Readers' Theater instruction in the classroom and one particular article talked about the fact that teachers will ask themselves how they will grade their students based on their performance in Readers' Theater. Rubrics are an essential and beneficial tool not only for teachers, but also for students. Teachers can use them to specify clear instructions for an assignment or project and students can use the rubric to understand their expectations for a given assignment or project. I have relied heavily on rubrics this semester in my own methods courses and definitely plan on using rubrics in my classroom especially with my Readers' Theater instruction.
